Summer has finally arrived weather-wise for us and literally, with the recent summer Solstice, Now, our garden is in bloom (at least whatever the deer haven’t nibbled on) and the temperature is becoming balmy.
Did you celebrate the summer Solstice? I hope you were able to spend as much time outdoors as possible. If you didn’t celebrate the Solstice, summer is still a time of growth, manifestation, love and energy and you can get help with your manifestation and other goals with several crystal helpers. Healing with Crystals for Kids!

Children have a natural connection to all things metaphysical, including the healing power of crystals. They tend to be extremely open and they don’t question what they’re feeling. They just know when certain crystals feel “right” to them. One of my favorite things to do is offer a bowl of the twenty-five tumbled stones (easy to find and cost effective) contained in my book Healing with Crystals for Kids! to a child to see which ones they are intuitively drawn to. Then, you can read through the descriptions with them to see if there is an energetic reason that they were drawn to a certain crystal at a certain time. Sometimes you’ll find that they’ve been having trouble expressing themselves and they’ll intuitively choose a throat chakra crystal. Sometimes, the reason is as simple as “it’s purple”, which is a perfectly good reason at any age!
My book also contains information about the body’s seven main chakras or energy centers. These are explained in a kid-friendly way that can really help them utilize their own personal power. This can be a tremendous help when emotions are unbalanced or communication isn’t going smoothly. When children have been taught how to take a few minutes to ground and center themselves, the results can be miraculous.
I also included basic scientific information, historical information, and crystal care instructions. The most common question we receive at Healingcrystals.com is “how do I cleanse my crystals?”. It’s never too early to start learning! I enlisted the help of my own son when I chose the list of crystals to include in the book. I wanted it to be a great mix of basics with a few extra-interesting ones thrown in for good measure. In the book, kids can read about Amethyst, Angelite, Aquamarine, Black Tourmaline, Blue Calcite, Blue Lace Agate, Carnelian, Cavensite, Citrine, Clear Quartz, Fluorite, Green Aventurine, Hematite, Howlite, Jade, Labradorite, Moonstone, Rainbow Aura Quartz, Red Jasper, Rose Quartz, Selenite, Smoky Quartz, Snowflake Obsidian, Sodalite, and Tiger Eye.
Kids are capable of learning a great deal so easily...their brains are like little sponges! It’s so beneficial when we can present them with information that will help them develop a healthy body, mind, and spirit. And hey…even if they just like crystals because they’re sparkly, that’s okay too!

Symbols of Our Independence

Independence Day, or the Fourth of July, is one of the great summer holidays here in the United States of America. We at Healing Crystals realize that many of our customers live in other nations and are part of the greater international community, but Healing Crystals was founded and is located in the United States. We are proud of our history and heritage, and so we invite all of our friends to join us in celebrating the Fourth of July along with us.
Independence Day is the National Holiday of the United States, and it is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress of the thirteen original British colonies. This act is popularly considered the "birthday" of the United States of America, though it would be many years before the actual United States was truly created. As Abraham Lincoln would note nearly one hundred years later in his Gettysburg address, the Founding Fathers, including Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin, strove to bring forth "a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal”.
While there are many popular symbols of July 4th, including fireworks, baseball, and summer picnics, one of the most stirring is the American flag. Legend has it that the American flag was created by Betsy Ross at the behest of George Washington to embody the ideals for which the new country was fighting. While this is a pleasant legend, the red, white, and blue of the American flag have come to stand for hardiness and valor (red), purity and innocence (white), and perseverance and justice (blue). To celebrate these values, consider the following stones to help you celebrate Independence Day:
RED: To inspire you with vitality and passion, try some Red Tigers' Eye. Ruby is another excellent red crystal to help you feel passion and excitement. Finally, let the crimson fire of Garnet inspire courage and protection in your soul with its powerful energies.
WHITE: For white crystals, the soothing vibrations of Moonstone are excellent for relaxing and relieving stress. Selenite, which is also linked to the moon, has a calming energy that can protect you from harmful, intrusive energies. And White Aventurine provides a purity and clarity that can be used to access all of the chakras, and can help reconcile you with all of humanity.
BLUE: The blue crystal Iolite helps bring about understanding and empathy which help to promote justice. Fidelity, loyalty, and commitment are key energies that you can access with Blue Sapphire. Blue Tiger Eye is an excellent crystal for those who promote truth and justice, for the crystal’s energies enhance insight and vision, and can help you see issues more clearly.
If you are in the United States, whatever you do on the Fourth of July, whether you celebrate with picnics and fireworks, travel and meet friends and families, or just stay at home and maybe reflect a little bit on the history of the United States, please stay safe and enjoy this celebration of the founding of our country. If you are an international friend of Healing Crystals, remember the ideals upon which our country was founded. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy day on July 4th.
Zoisite for Independence
Zoisite supports those who are too strongly influenced by others. It aids in finding one's own truth, and then having the courage to walk in that truth rather than conforming for thte sake of "fitting in." Zoisite is also a good choice for those trying to replace self-destructive patterns with self-affirming patterns.
